CHANGES IN POLICY & COURSE SCHEDULE: Milne Studio reserves the right to combine, add, delete, change courses, or convert existing in-studio courses to digital online courses. Milne Studio also reserves the right to make changes in faculty, school calendar and any general or specific studio or course or coaching policy at any time. Students of the studio that use Facebook must be a member of the Toronto Secret Facebook Group and must also check in for class and pay attention to all notifications regarding classes and the work in class.

ATTENDANCE: To derive the full benefit of the workshops at Milne Studio, it is essential that absences and tardiness be kept to a minimum. The classes are based on participation, therefore regular attendance is necessary to successfully complete the course. Each student’s record of attendance and participation will be monitored and in cases of extreme absenteeism or tardiness, Milne Studio may take disciplinary action.
It is at the discretion of the instructor to set attendance expectations.

CLASS PACKS:

WEEKLY CLASS PACKS: To be used in strict accordance with the designated time frames below. These class packs are meant to be used in consecutive weeks. The purpose for consecutive week training is for student growth. We do provide makeup classes with each pack.

  • 4-class pack must be completed within 6 weeks.
  • 6-class pack must be completed within 8 weeks.
  • 8-class pack must be completed within 11 weeks.
  • 10-class pack must be completed within 13 weeks.
  • 12-class pack must be completed within 16 weeks.

OPEN CLASS PACKS: These class packs can be used for a period of one year from the date of the first class used in the pack.

UNSOLICITED FEEDBACK or NEGATIVE COMMENTARY of STUDENT PERFORMANCE: The studio is intended to be a space where students empower and inspire one another in their development and growth as actors. Unsolicited feedback or negative commentary on another student’s performance - whether directly to the student or indirectly to other students - will not be tolerated. This includes any students attempting to coach or direct another student’s performance in class.

HEALTH: Milne Studio maintains a strict health code. Any student that is experiencing cold, flu, or covid symptoms on or before the day of a class should message their instructor to let them know that they will miss that class. In this case the student will not lose a class from the class pack. Students are allotted one sick day per 4-weeks.

SCENT-FREE ENVIRONMENT: Considering student and faculty health and comfort, the studio is now a scent-free environment. This means that overly strong scents, including colognes and perfumes, as well as other fragrances that are strong enough to trigger a student or staff member’s allergies or sensitivities, are prohibited while inside the studio. 

PAYMENT: [Applies to all payments made to Milne Studio via Brad Milne] Payment may be made in the form of credit card, interac eTransfer, cash, money order, or personal check.

The student must be paid in full prior to attending classes. Milne Studio will accept payments, known as the “Pay Ahead Program”. Operating much like a lay-a-way plan, the student makes payments toward the purchase of the class. Under no circumstance will the student be allowed to attend prior to payment in full. Milne Studio may offer discounts. The discounts will be advertised along with the price of the workshop and may not be used in combination with any other discount. Only one discount per workshop will be given. There will be fee of $40 for any returned checks and the balance due must be paid in full [the amount of the check plus $40] in cash within 5 business days.

REFUNDS: A full refund or credit will be made to the student should Milne Studio completely cancel a workshop, seminar, session or course. In the case when Milne Studio postpones and reschedules a class, workshop, seminar, session or course to a new date the fee paid is non refundable.

After any class pack or course, seminar, bootcamp or workshop, private coaching session or self tape is purchased the fee paid is non-refundable.

After any class pack or course, seminar, bootcamp or workshop, private coaching session or self tape is purchased it is non-transferable and may not be sold or transferred to another enrolled or incoming new student. We do however provide gift certificates.

After a weekend or One day special Seminar, Bootcamp, Workshop, Private Coaching, Self Tape, Career Counseling or Demo Reel Service is purchased it is non-refundable.

Payments made via Credit Card, Interac eTransfer, or PayPal will follow the same policy as those paid by Cash, Check or Money Order. All payments are non-refundable.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY: The content of this website is intended solely for the individual(s) whom visit it, and is considered confidential and privileged information. If you are not the intended recipient, any dissemination or copying is strictly prohibited. The Perge Method™ is the express copyright and trademark of Brad Milne and Milne Studio, as is all other content on this site. Students, interns, and staff studying or working at Milne Studio whom are privy to it's intellectual property are prohibited from duplicating Milne Studio Classes or Services. Theft and/or Re-purposing of Intellectual Property or copyright material is a criminal offense. Intellectual Property in Canada. Milne Studio intellectual property includes and is not limited to all photographs and video's captured and recorded by Milne Studio during classes, bootcamps, private coaching, self tapes and demo reel sessions. Milne Studio has full right to use all captured media of actors at a Milne Studio base or on location for the purposes of marketing videos, educational videos, photographs and archives. Milne Studio reserves the right to withhold media captured of actors at a Milne Studio base or on location from being distributed if Milne Studio deems the content to not meet the Milne Studio level of standards.

IN CLASS & STUDIO MEDIA: All video and still images captured in classes and at studio events is the sole property of the studio. The studio will from time to time post these images in promotional materials and to help further the actors careers. Please advise the studio if you prefer your images or videos not be shared.

ONLINE CLASS: It is the student's responsibility to have a robust working internet connection allowing them to interact with the studio and their scene partners. Each student must create a work environment for themselves online that is professional, tidy and presentable. Remember, you are bringing your location to the class and professional artistic experience.

VIRTUAL CLASS: From time to time our instructors will be called away from the studio for work in the field and will connect with the class through our distance learning digitally based studio on zoom. These classes will be counted as a regular studio class and will be administered by the attending assistant manager.

SHORT CLASS: If at anytime during the duration of the workshop enrollment or attendance drops below class minimum [usually 4 or less], AT THE DISCRETION OF THE INSTRUCTOR, the class maybe called short of the pre-designated time period [usually 2-3 hours], provided the class meets a minimum of 2/3 of the pre-designated time. [usually 1.5-2 hours] The student will not be compensated with either refund or credit.

HARASSMENT: Milne Studio faculty, staff, and students of the school shall not condone any actions that a reasonable person would consider gender discrimination or sexual harassment. Harassment also includes inappropriate comments about another student, irrespective of whether that student is present to overhear such comments. Sexual harassment complaints should be made to Milne Studio Director or Student Resource Manager in writing. Every effort will be made to resolve problems on an individual basis. Any transgressions of this policy will result in prompt and appropriate disciplinary action.

ALCOHOL/DRUG USE: The unlawful possession, use or distribution of illicit drugs or alcohol by students, associates, and sub-contractors is prohibited. Milne Studio is a drug free workplace as defined by federal regulation. Students, associates, and sub-contractors found in violation of any local, state or federal law regarding the use, possession or distribution of alcohol or other illicit drugs will be subject to disciplinary procedure and, in addition may be subject to legal action.

DISCLAIMER: All programs, workshops and seminars offered at Milne Studio are intended for enrichment and are not designed to qualify the participants for employment in the entertainment industry. The completion of any class at Milne Studio is not a guarantee of employment or representation.

OFFICE RULES & PROCEDURES: The Administrative office is to be used by Milne Studio staff and faculty only. Unauthorized entry and/or use of the office by any student or non-associates, or sub-contractors may result in disciplinary action.

STUDENT RULE OF CONDUCT: Milne Studio students are to conduct themselves in a manner befitting a professional learning environment. All students must respect the rights of others. This includes minimizing sound, using devices while students perform, and receiving feedback from studio instructors. Our students are individually representative of Milne Studio as a whole. Therefore, behavior outside of the classroom and in class is expected to reflect that of professionals. Milne Studio reserves the right to refuse admission, dismiss, or expel any student not complying with this Rule of Conduct.

STUDENT DRESS CODE: Milne Studio faculty reserves the right to set specific dress code standards for class.

CLASS SIZE: The number of students assigned to each class is based on a student/teacher ratio that is beneficial to the goals and objectives of that class. Classes will be structured so that student critiques are easily accomplished. Lecture and Seminar classes may be larger.

AUDITORS: Auditors are permitted to attend most Actor and Filmmaker Workshops as space permits. Please contact the office for permission and an appointment.
